Terms of Service

Last updated 22 September 2026

The agreement between you and the operator of this finance.works deployment.

This document has not been reviewed by a lawyer

It is an accurate technical description of how finance.works behaves, written to give counsel a factual starting point. It is not legal advice and is not fit to publish as a binding agreement until a qualified attorney has reviewed it against the jurisdictions you operate in.

It is also incomplete: the operating entity, governing jurisdiction and contact address are set from the deployment’s environment and at least one of them is missing.

What you are agreeing to use

finance.works is software that organizes financial information and explains it. It is provided as a tool for your own use. By using it you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use it.

It is not a bank, and not advice

finance.works holds no money and is not a bank, broker-dealer, investment adviser or tax professional. Nothing it produces is personalized financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and no outcome or return is guaranteed. The full statement is on the Disclosures page and forms part of these terms.

Your responsibilities

  • Use it lawfully, and only for your own financial information or information you are authorized to handle.
  • Do not attempt to breach, overload or circumvent the service's technical limits, including its rate limits.
  • Do not use automated means to extract data from the service at scale.
  • Verify anything material before acting on it. The product shows its arithmetic precisely so that you can.

Accuracy, and the limits of it

Figures are derived from the data available to the product. Where that data is incomplete, stale or wrong, the output will be too. Forecasts are estimates. AI-generated answers can contain errors despite citing their sources. You remain responsible for your financial decisions.

Availability

The service is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. It may be unavailable, interrupted or discontinued at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service — including any financial decision you make with it.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

Your data

How your information is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy. In short: it stays in your browser, and the only thing that leaves is what is needed to answer a question you have asked.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be surfaced in the product rather than only posted here, and the date at the top of this page will change.
